Family Ministries Our sixth annual Awana Grand Prix was a huge success.  Families, neighbours and friends filed into the gym on April 2nd to enjoy a time of fun, fellowship, and race car action.  Cubbies and Sparkies had a blast racing their hot wheel cars down the track, then they cheered on our older clubbers, the T&T’s.  This group of children had to carve their masterpieces out of a block of wood.  Wow, were they amazing!  Design trophies were handed out to the top three cars.  Chad and Sandra Ballantyne shared their time and expertise with us to judge our cars – no easy task!

Our clubbers raced four heats each and the winner of each heat raced off in the grand finale.  It was exciting to award our top three racers their first, second and third place trophies.

Dempsters Food, Sobeys in Bradford and our Awana volunteers generously donated food for our concession stand.  We were able to raise $502.00 to support our Awana sponsor child from Ghana, Africa.  What a blessing!  Big thanks to volunteers and families for your support in this.

Another highlight of the day was the amazing object lesson brought to us by John Shewfelt and our T&T Director, Craig Elliot.  With rocks, pebbles and sand, they showed us how important it is to ensure that you put God first in your life and in doing so, everything else will fall into place.There is so much joy in serving the Lord and days like this prove it!
