Home - Ministries - Family Ministries - News - Awana Baskets of Joy Family Ministries We witnessed generous hearts recently at Awana.  Our volunteers organized an incredible silent auction filled with beautiful themed baskets, put together by our clubbers and their families.  Parents, friends, relatives and Harvest small groups joined us, and the bidding frenzy began.  At 8 p.m. winners were announced and they were excited to receive their beautiful baskets.  In the process we raised $835 for orphanages in Haiti and Nigeria – praise God for that!

It was also our first Store Night and boy were the kids excited to spend their hard earned Awana bucks.  However, they not only purchased neat stuff for themselves, they also spent money at the table filled with non-perishable food items (which were donated by our Awana volunteers) to be donated to the Barrie Food Bank.  It was amazing to see the children reaching out to those in need. 

So grateful to our faithful Awana team who continues to serve with joy and gladness and strives to bring glory to God in all they do.
