Wow! What an
incredible time we had yesterday.
Celebrating communion just seemed to tie up last week’s events and lead
us right into this week’s service.
I talked to one lady who was helping out in the music room
with those who responded. She
wanted to leave so she could see the baptisms from up front. Pastor Roger offered her a backstage
pass so she could watch from the wings and celebrate as they came out. That’s a good way to get really wet!
It is so good to see people obey the Lord as many did yesterday by responding to Pastor Todd's declaration that today was the day...for salvation and baptism. Eleven people left the service part way through the message and then at the end of the service were baptized. At least three of those who responded
are the fruit of this past Easter.
God is always working and we get to join him. Don’t be slow in signing up for our next baptism in the
fall. Several have already
indicated they are in. I know
those being baptized and those helping them sure appreciate the Darlingtons and
all the work they do to set up and tear down the hot tub. They are such gracious hosts during the
service for the ones being baptized.
At the end of the service there was a further call to make the commitment to membership, small groups, serving and giving. It was encouraging to see the response as people signed up for all these things. If you missed Sunday, you can listen online as always. And if you're still thinking about some of what you heard, links to the audio and to more info can be found below.
Our leaders were part of a Builders meeting last night. I can’t wait to find out what they
heard. There is no way I am going
to miss this Sunday - Vision Sunday. I’m coming
early to get a good seat up front.
Of course I’ll move in to the center to make room for others because we
are going to need every seat.
God has great things in store. We are all building this local body. I’m sure there is a place for every
willing heart and hand. I’m
signing on the line. Are you in?
