The dog days of summer are here!  We are deep into July with hot and dry weather (in spite of the thunderstorm during second service!) It makes my dog want to hide in the shade and makes him a little snarly. Sometimes I’m just like him too!

But I sure got the message that I need to be different from everyone around me if I’m going to stand out and shout out for Jesus Christ. That means whether it’s the weather or some other trial, I should look different. I so appreciated Ian Hales’ passion for us believers to be salt and light.

I liked this quote: “Jesus emphasizes that our ability to preserve the world so that they may see Christ in us and prevent decay depends on us being different!” I’m so thankful for a clear philosophy of ministry here at Harvest that emphasizes not compromising who we are in Christ. I’m reviewing our purpose and pillars from the back of the bulletin!

It was cool to meet Ian and Sarah and their children Karis and Joshua. I am so thankful for the Pastors God has brought to the various churches in Harvest Bible Fellowship. I was glad to hear we were sharing Pastor Todd with Harvest Niagara too.

Tomorrow the team gets home from Glasgow. It will be exciting to hear them share next Sunday night. I’m looking forward to Pastor Scott preaching too! I’m going to practice my brogue with a couple of people around Harvest. Hope they don’t mind a phone call out of nowhere!

Oops! I hear a guitar riff. Must be time to pray!

Peace.
