Baptism
An important step in following Christ is to be baptized. An orientation class is held the Sunday before a baptism. This class will explain thoroughly the Scriptural foundation, purpose and means of baptism. The details of what will happen are presented and any questions answered. It is a great opportunity to review how God has saved us, as well as define and describe our own personal conversion.
Spiritual Disciplines
Are you the same person spiritually as you were a year ago? Unfortunately, for many the answer is yes. Yet God wants us to be growing in our knowledge of him and in the grace that he has given us (II Peter 3:18). This class focuses on principles of growth that will help you move towards spiritual completeness in Christ. We will explore seven spiritual disciplines that will enable you to walk confidently as you go through life. We will be looking at matters pertaining to the mind, the emotions and the will as we look to remove obstacles and to develop habits that will nurture the fully alive life in Jesus Christ.
Our next Spiritual Disciplines class starts on Sunday, March 18, 2012 and will run for three Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Adult Ed room. For more information or to register for the program please contact the office
or call 705-739-8613.
Spiritual Gifts
Discover how God has uniquely gifted you to serve him. This class will help you discover your purpose for the common life and benefit of Christ’s church. You will discover how your personality has suited you for certain roles and how the Holy Spirit can empower you to be more like Christ as you grow to spiritual maturity. You will also learn about the spiritual gifts God has given to his people and you will discover the specific gifts that he has given you. The purpose of this class is to assist you in finding a good fit for your personal ministry at Harvest Bible Chapel. Included in the class are several assessments and a spiritual gift inventory that will help you understand yourself and others around you and will assist you in finding a place to serve. Participants will also receive personalized counseling to help move them into service at Harvest Bible Chapel.

Get Out There: Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with boldness
Most believers don’t share their faith regularly because they have never been taught how. Get Out There (formerly called Encounter 4) is an online course that is all about sharing your faith with others. It is designed to help equip you with the tools you need to go and share the good news of Christ to others with boldness. Through a study of the book of Acts and the theology of salvation, you will gain the skills and confidence to share the message of salvation in a way that will get people thanking you for taking the time to do so.
