Communication AssistantSheila is our youngest Christian on staff - in terms of being a follower of Christ. She was introduced to Harvest in 2006 by running friends who convinced her to come see the James MacDonald live promo for his Downpour tour. She has been attending ever since. Sheila became a follower early that summer and was baptized in August of that same year. Sheila's husband, Rick, and step-son, Devyn, also become followers after watching how the Lord slowly but surely worked in her.
Sheila chose to retire from BMO in the fall of 2007 and started to serve as a volunteer in the church office soon after. This has turned into part-time employment with the church where she looks after most of the office technology and photo needs for the church.
Sheila and her family (including her Old English Sheepdog, Shadoe) moved to Barrie about 10 years ago after Rick suffered a stroke which left him partially disabled. She loves sports (mostly non-team sports like long distance running, kayaking, rowing, and cycling) and anything computer related.
Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me", is a verse that has great meaning for Sheila - she even has it engraved on a bracelet she wears. Sheila says "In the last four years I have been able to stand strong against many temptations (including substance abuse) and my marriage (which was about to disintegrate, AGAIN) is now the healthiest it has ever been. All this has been as a result of the strength I draw from God."(705) 739-8613 ext. 223
