Caring for Souls in the 21st Century
What should we do when we’re struggling with problems that don’t seem to be found in the Bible? Where can we turn when we try to help others or even ourselves? The Christian Counseling and Education Foundation’s Modern Problems Conference will go beyond simplistic answers to provide us a framework for offering relevant, God-centred help. Join us in-person at Harvest where we’ll be live-streaming this conference over three days, October 8-10. Ministry leaders, mentors and counsellors will find it especially valuable but anyone serving in ministry who wants to care for and counsel others well will benefit from the conference.
General Sessions:
1. Modern Problems: A Counselor’s View of Cultural Chaos (Alasdair Groves)
2. Ancient Word, Modern World: How Does Scripture Speak Today? (Mike Emlet)
3. How Trauma Breaks into Scripture (Ed Welch)
4. Social Isolation and Modern Opportunities (Aaron Sironi)
5. The Unique Challenges of Modern Community (Jonathan Holmes)
6. Agree in the Lord (Shai Linne)
7. The Unique Challenges of Modern Sexuality (Julie Lowe)
8. Experiencing the King’s Power Over Every Problem (Ste Casey)
There will also also a number of breakout sessions to choose from. You can register with Harvest to benefit from the conference group rate (which we will pay for you once you register here). Receive $30 off the conference price if you register before August 31.
