Jennifer Hoffman

Children’s Ministry Director

As a young child, Jennifer’s parents’ life was self-directed and headed on a course that brought them little hope. Her parents made the decision to move from Toronto to Orillia, in hopes of changing this trajectory. All the while God continued to pursue them. Not too long after this move, they became followers of Christ and this began a radical and noticeable change in Jennifer’s parents. As a result, Jennifer grew up mostly in a Christian home, but soon many questions and doubts about God became a difficult struggle for her as answers were very hard to come by. God did not forget her and after a period of rebellion in her early teen years, Jennifer made a decision, at a youth weekend, to allow God to lead her life. She began to trust that he would provide her with answers in his timing. Over the years God has been faithful to do just that and Harvest Bible Chapel has played a key role in God answering many of her questions since she began attending in 2016.

In 1998, Jennifer married her husband Ben and they have six children. With a family this large it can be challenging to get away, so Ben and Jennifer have found a love to geek out playing strategy board games with each other or with friends.

Both Ben and Jennifer have a desire to help children feel the safety of a loving home and to ultimately have them understand the love that God has for them. They did this by fostering children for 10 years and then God opened the door for Jennifer to move into the children’s ministry director role at Harvest.

In spite of the busyness of life, Jennifer tries to always remember Acts 20:24, “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
