LIZ KOEVOET

Day Camp Director

It was a crisis pregnancy and Liz’s premature birth at 26 weeks that led her parents to a saving faith in Jesus. This led to Liz being raised in a Christian home across multiple places in America’s midwest but her formative years were in Littleton, Colorado. She gave her own life to Jesus in junior high on the way to winter camp and was baptized in the summer of 9th grade. Feeling God calling her into ministry she started looking into Bible college options. She ended up coming to Canada to attend Tyndale College and Seminary in Toronto where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education. It was there that she developed a love for children’s ministry. She also met her future husband, Dave, there. After graduation, they married and will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2022.

Liz has served on staff in multiple children’s ministry roles in several churches in Ontario and Texas. She loves teaching kids about God and the wonders he has done, especially his salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection. What a joy it is to teach kids about Jesus, “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.” (Colossians 1:19‭-‬22)

Liz and Dave and their two teenaged boys, Jacob and Noah, live in north Barrie and have been attending Harvest since the fall of 2019.
