PETER MILLARD

Elder (on his year off)

Peter grew up in Toronto in a family that regularly attended an Anglican church, but did not come to know the Lord personally until he attended the University of Waterloo in 1975. During a crisis period in his life, a fellow engineering student shared the gospel with him and his life was changed forever.

His life verse is Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Peter married his wife Kathy, also from Toronto, in 1981. God has blessed them with three children, now all married—Andrew, Jonathan and Marybeth—as well as nine grandchildren. By God’s grace, each of their children and their spouses are Christ followers and are growing in their walk with the Lord.

Prior to coming to Harvest, Peter and Kathy spent 21 years at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Chatham, Ontario where he served as a deacon, deacon chairman, small group leader and adult Bible class teacher.

Peter is semi-retired from a career in IT and now works as a freelance flight instructor where he teaches students of all ages to fly little planes.

Peter and Kathy currently lead a small group and have a passion for God’s Word and a deep desire to see believers mature in their walk with him.
