Thomas enjoyed his early years growing up in the very small town of Tara, Ontario. He lived life as a boy exploring his surroundings with friends, jumping off barn roofs, and snowmobiling with his family. His adventurous nature remains to this day, but he acknowledges that jumping off roofs is no longer an option.
His mother sent him to Sunday school at the local United church, where he was christened as a baby and where he was first introduced to the Bible. In 1989 he met his wife Cynthia at work in Barrie. When they started dating, he quickly became a member of her family and began attending the Lutheran church with them. Thomas and Cynthia were married in 1991 and made a significant move to the Barrie Alliance Church. It was here that he really came to understand his need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Thomas gave his life to Christ later that same year and had an emotional baptism in Lake Simcoe in 1993.
God has blessed his life and his marriage immensely! Thomas and Cynthia became the parents of twins in 2003, after attending Harvest Bible Chapel for less than a year. Their children, Matthew and Hannah, enjoy being part of the Harvest family and are a constant reminder of God’s grace.
Thomas enjoys cooking up new recipes for his family and spending time with them. He clings to Scripture in life’s ups and downs with a special love for Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” He looks forward to what God has in store for his future and is committed to following him every step of the way.
