Sermon Series: From The Heart
One of our pillars here at Harvest is that we “believe firmly in the power of prayer.” It’s a core fundamental in the life of our church. We spend time in corporate prayer together every week, start our meetings with prayer, pray in small groups, host prayer nights and prayer-focused weeks as a church, all because we would say that “without prayer, nothing else matters.” Prayer is our lifeline to the almighty, creator God. Prayer is the means by which we align ourselves with God’s will for our lives, and we see the importance of a life committed to prayer all over the Scriptures.
The apostle Paul took time in his letters to various churches not only to model a life devoted to prayer, but also to pray specific things for the believers to whom he was writing. Each prayer reveals his heart to see those he loves grow in spiritual harmony (Romans 15:5-7), spiritual strength (Ephesians 3:14-21), spiritual maturity (1 Thessalonians 3:10-13), and spiritual wisdom (Colossians 1:9-14). Our hope and prayer is that this series will ignite our passion for prayer and continue the sanctifying work God desires to do in each of our hearts for these things.
