Above all else, the church must be an enthusiastic purveyor of the hope-filled message that Jesus Christ alone saves.

If we don’t, no one else will.

The gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news that he came to give us life, is the only hope for this world. And we want our church to be about that message and that message exclusively.

Our study of Luke’s Gospel has us looking at Zechariah’s “song” in Luke 1:67-80. His son will be a powerful preacher who will capture the attention of the nation. His message is simple: Repent…God’s coming. It is a message the nation and the world desperately need to hear.

And Zechariah’s praise song to God articulates the need, the hope, and the message that his son John will preach and that the Messiah will embody. I’m excited to work my way through this passage with you today.
